[23.02.2017, g. 18:00] Piotr Świątkowski, a journalist of Merkury radio station, will talk about his latest book : "Polakom i psom wstęp wzbroniony" [No Poles. No dogs], devoted to Nazi occupation of Wartheland. The book`s title is a reference to a notice which, in the 1930s, hung on the door of Dobski cafe: `No Jews. No dogs` The meeting, promoting the book, is to be held in the Raczynski Library on 23 February.
[25.02.2017, g. 20:00] Sung in polyphonic voice, traditional songs, from Ukraine, the Balkans, Poland, Belarus, Georgia and Scandinavia are the trademark of Laboratorium Pieśni [The Laboratory of Song], i.e. a group of female singers from Tri-city. On 25 February, the artists will be guests of Poznań Amarant Centre. In concert, they will present material from their debut album, "Rosna".
[18.02.2017, g. 18:00] Would the works of Jerzy Piotrowicz, a renowned artist, connected with Poznań, have stood the test of time? Does his painting work, as well as drawings and graphic design remain up-to-date and inspiring? The organizers of the Festival of Piotrowicz are showing evidence this is the case. At FWD gallery, the works of the artist have been presented together with memes by Jakub Paprocki.
[17.02.2017, g. 20:00] The debut album of Polish-Ukrainian band DagaDana has had the status of a rarity for quite some time now. All those who have tried finding it in music shops are well aware of that. There is a chance though that their wished might come true. Six years after `Maleńka` was first released, a re-edition of the album will appear! To mark the occasion, this Friday, DagaDana will give a special concert at Dragon club in Poznań.
[od 16.02.2017, g. 17:00 do 03.03.2017, g. 20:00] Three years ago, Maciej Karolewski of Krotoszyn`s Culture Centre found, in a lumber-room, a large box that once held electric bulbs. It was meant to be thrown away and it ended up... at an exhibition. As it happened, the box contained 300 fragile glass tiles - they were photo negatives! The opening of the exhibition "Tu i teraz. Tam i wtedy" [Here & Now, There & Then], made of , among others, those photos, will be held on 16 February at Poznań Regional Library.
[15.02.2017, g. 18:00] John Donne and other metaphysical poets - both contemporary and those of the past, will be the protagonists of a lecture by Paweł Czapczyk, PhD,held at the Raczyński Library. Tales of time recovered and metaphysical poetry will resound in the surroundings of an exhibition called "Po co są dni?" [What are days for?], devoted to ...calendars. The event is to take place on 15 February.
[16.02.2017, g. 18:00] Is a comic book just a bit of fun reading for kids? What is the message their authors want to convey? Do pictures add to the text or are they as relevant as the words? And finally, do female writers of comic books call both themselves and their work feminist? These questions should be answered at the meeting "Komiks na F" [Comics with an F], which is organised by `PIES andaluzyjski` club in Poznań.
[17.02.2017] `The Card Index`, at the time of war waged in Ukraine, takes on a new and quite tragic meaning. It becomes bitingly up-to-date – says Andrzej Szczytko, an actor from Poznań directing Tadeusz Różewicz`s play for the Drama Theatre in Kharkiv. Rehearsals are in progress and the Ukranian premiere will be held in March this year.

Excerpts from the lyric will be recited in the intervals between the pieces performed at this Sunday`s Valentine`s Day concert of Amadeus orchestra. Firstly, we will hear music by English composers, then Astor Piazzoll`a tangos.
[15.02.2017, g. 18:00] Culture Centre in Konin welcomes back `Wednesdays with independent film`. This year`s series of meetings ,to start on 15 February, will be devoted to the movies presented at last year`s edition of Grand OFF festival in Warsaw. We will see pictures awarded prizes in various categories, among others, the best feature film – "Riders 29’" directed by Jesper Vidkjær Rasmussen.
[10.02.2017, g. 16:00] Postcards sent to his wife from Italy, France and Great Britain, as well as Tadeusz Kulisiewicz`s notes form the framework for the exhibition entitled "Tadeusz Kulisiewicz: Moja historia sztuki" [Tadeusz Kulisiewicz: my history of art]. The opening of the exhibition will be held at Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Centre of Drawing and Graphics in Kalisz on February 10. It was indeed in Kalisz where the eminent Polish draughtsman and graphic designer was born.
